job-a-palooza or JOB-A-PARUSA?!!!!

I was up early in anticipation of this year's biggest job fair in the country. Aiming to have a job or a prospect employer at the end of the day was one of my goals coming here to this Job-a-palooza sponsored by DOLE. I was ecstatic to ride a bus going to SMX convention hall in MOA grounds. I was greeted by hundreds of job seekers tyring to have a job at the end of the day. DOLE assured us of 250,000 jobs available locally and overseas. I imagined that everyone who will come to the job fair will have a job at the end of the day. I calculated that if im the 10,000th person on the fair, 240,000 jobs are still up for grabs to those who will come in the afternoon.
Upon reaching the SMX convention center, we were greeted by two security guards telling me and my girlfriend to fall in line. We followed a bunch of newly grads on th line. I wasn't quite sure on how many people was ahead of me. We were ushered to a parking a lot to create an elaborate snake like pattern before giving us the chance of getting inside the convention center. I was quite surprised by the the group of people waiting patiently to enter the SMX grounds. If I were to count the people ahead of me, It would be like more than 1,000. I could not imagine the SMX convention hall accomodating all of us, I was skeptical that we will be given a chance to go inside and aplly or even deposit our resume.
My skepticism soon turned to reality, we were standing on that parking lot for awfully too long. I was cracking jokes to help us ease the tension. I said "Ang mga maglalaro sa WoWowee (Here comes the players for Wowowee)". Everyone that heard what I've said gave a smile and continue to endure the pain of standing for almost 5 hours. Chaos breaks once in a while, people cutting lines and switching lines, peopl hollering at each other to give way and not to cut lines. I was really pissed off with the way things are going. No security guards to help us secure the line. After seeing our agony, a DOLE spokeperson suddenly help up a mic and said "Sa mga job-seekers, Puno na po ang SMX convention center, hindi na po kayo maaccommodate. Meron po kaming 2 bus dyan para po ihatid kayo sa SM Manila, meron din po dung jobfair. (To all our job-seekers, SMX Convention center cannot accomodate all of you. We have provided you 2 buses for transportation to drop you off at SM Manila. We also have an ongoing job fair in SM Manila). Angry cries and a lot of boo's were heard. They told them that they should have told them to find their way to SM Manila sooner. A lot of people was pissed off.
People started to take a walk towards SMX convention hall, many were chanting "GLORIA RESIGN GLORIA RESIGN". TV camera was rolling and was asking for someone to be interviewed. A bright young man was interviewed and he spilled his anger towards DOLE and the Government (poor man).
I went home dissatisfied and saw the bigger picture that it is not enough to promise us 250,000 thousands jobs if we won't be able to be interviewed or let alone pass our resume. I was so pissed off that DOLE was unable to foresee the looming disaster of what will happen. They know that SMX has limited capacity, they should have opted for an open ground to held the "biggest" job fair. They should have deployed a lot of securities and a lot of representatives to address the needs of the people. Truly, you cannot just promise 250,000 thousands jobs to people, you need to help them get in touch with those jobs.
